David Johanson joins American Soybean Association as international adviser

Johanson spent nearly 15 years at the US International Trade Commission, including two terms as chairman, and is focused on advising ASA on global trade issues for US soybean farmers.

David Johanson, a former chairman and commissioner of the US International Trade Commission, has joined the American Soybean Association’s government affairs team as its international trade adviser, World Grain reports.

ASA said Johanson will serve as an international trade adviser and bring experience centered on agriculture and agricultural trade, highlighting his nearly 15 years at the trade commission, including two full terms as chairman.

World Grain added that Johanson previously served nearly nine years as international trade counsel for the US Senate Committee on Finance, advising Senator Chuck Grassley and working extensively on agricultural trade matters, including soybeans.

The outlet also noted that Johanson previously practiced international trade law in the private sector, where the American Soybean Association was among his clients.
