ERCOT electricity demand stays near record levels amid heat

The EIA said ERCOT’s weekly average load remains close to record highs as sustained high temperatures continue to push up electricity demand in the Texas grid.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which manages power for most of the state, is seeing persistently elevated demand tied to the ongoing heat.
