Ethereum proposal would let users pay gas without holding ETH

Decrypt reports that a new Ethereum proposal, dubbed EIP-8141, would allow users to pay transaction gas without needing to hold ETH.

The draft has been in circulation since January, and its authors frame the approach as both a usability change and a possible defense against quantum computers.

The proposal is still at the drafting stage, according to Decrypt, with the team presenting the concept as part of Ethereum's longer term considerations.
