Netherlands withdraws about 90 tons of gold from the New York Fed
The Dutch central bank said it was reducing U.S. gold holdings due to concerns tied to geopolitical unrest.
The Dutch central bank has moved some 90 tons of gold out of the Federal Reserve Bank in New York, according to the New York Times Economy.
The move is the second time this year that a European country has said it would cut back or eliminate its U.S. gold holdings, with the Netherlands citing geopolitical unrest.
The Netherlands also becomes the latest European shift affecting how gold reserves are stored, moving a portion of bullion that had been held in the United States.
