BitFuFu rebounds August Bitcoin production, but reserves remain below June
The miner said August total production rose to 174 BTC, while its Bitcoin balance ended the month at 1,373 BTC, still 298 BTC lower than June.
BitFuFu, a Bitcoin miner and cloud-mining provider, reported a 55.4% rebound in August production after additional capacity came online, with total output rising to 174 BTC for the month.
Cloud-mining customers accounted for about three quarters of the added output, and company Bitcoin holdings increased by 59 BTC to 1,373 BTC by August end. However, the update also emphasized that coins produced for cloud customers are excluded from BitFuFu’s holdings, so that production is not counted as treasury replenishment.
BitFuFu said customer cloud output is tied to a separately reported revenue business, but shareholders reviewing its spending on future mining capacity should distinguish between customer-produced coins and changes in the company’s own Bitcoin balance. The company reported that managed hashrate reached 20.6 EH/s at Aug. 31, up from 14.2 EH/s a month earlier.
The operating update also noted that ending August reserves remained 298 BTC below June’s level and referenced a prior July decline tied to advance payments for hashrate capacity scheduled to start in August and run for 330 days. The company did not provide new profit or payback figures for the Bitcoin committed to capacity, leaving future updates to show whether the expansion translates into earnings.
