China to showcase PLA Air Force aircraft at Egypt air show this week
The aircraft selection is intended to highlight the PLA Air Force’s integrated combat capabilities and export potential, according to a military analyst.
China will showcase several People’s Liberation Army Air Force aircraft overseas for the first time this week at Egypt’s El Alamein International Airshow, after participating in a recent joint air drill, according to SCMP Economy.
Chinese armed forces posted images on social media of the Z-20, J-16, YY-20, and KJ-500 ahead of the event, with the aircraft selected to demonstrate integrated combat abilities and export potential, the outlet reported citing a military analyst.
The PLA Air Force said its involvement is meant to increase friendship and mutual trust and strengthen diversified military cooperation between the two armed forces.
The air show participation underscores Beijing’s effort to project defense capabilities abroad as part of its broader overseas export positioning, SCMP Economy said.
