Iran criticizes Canada over support for U.S. actions in Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s foreign ministry criticized Canada for backing U.S. actions tied to the Strait of Hormuz, according to CNBC Markets.
The ministry said Canada was supporting U.S. measures after Canada condemned Iran’s destabilizing actions in the Middle East and said it would coordinate with partners to maintain significant pressure on Iran, CNBC World reported.
The dispute adds to the diplomatic and market-sensitive pressure around shipping lanes in the region.
