IMA names Krista Adamson as national healthcare practice director
The appointment consolidates IMA's healthcare property and casualty capabilities as liability and property terms tighten, including for professional liability and abuse and molestation coverage.
IMA Financial Group has appointed Krista Adamson as national healthcare practice director, consolidating the Denver-based brokerage's healthcare expertise under dedicated national leadership.
Adamson comes from Alera Group, where she spent 12 years leading the property and casualty practice for HealthSure, a specialty unit serving healthcare sector clients. IMA said her P and C background, rather than a benefits pedigree, will shape its push toward a full-spectrum risk practice as healthcare property and casualty exposures become harder to place.
IMA said shifting P and C exposures and increasingly complex insurance markets are the primary challenges healthcare clients face. It pointed to pressure on the liability market in 2026, including tightening for professional liability and sexual abuse and molestation coverage, with higher premiums, larger retentions, and reduced limits.
The company also cited marketplace constraints such as contracting capacity at upper liability tower layers, plus additional classification and coverage complexity for senior living organizations. Industry data referenced in the announcement also described easing terms for well-managed facilities, even as catastrophe-prone zones or aging infrastructure still face tighter conditions, according to mid-year analysis from Amwins.
