Xiaomi and Huawei launch foldables ahead of Apple’s rumored iPhone
The Chinese makers used the lead-up to Apple’s expected event to market their own new foldable devices rather than wait for iPhone announcements.
Xiaomi and Huawei have introduced new foldable phones as they move to gain ground ahead of Apple’s upcoming event, where the company is rumored to unveil its first foldable iPhone.
According to CNBC Markets, the launches add to an intensifying competitive push among major Chinese handset makers seeking attention during the same product cycle Apple is expected to enter.
CNBC World similarly noted that Xiaomi and Huawei timed their new foldables ahead of Apple’s event, in a bid to capture early interest before Apple’s rumored device goes on display.
