Bitcoin Bancorp buys 2,547 defunct Bitcoin Depot crypto ATMs for $620,750
The deal covers 2,547 kiosks, just over a quarter of Bitcoin Depot’s 9,200-plus machines, as the sector copes with fraud losses and tighter regulation.
Bitcoin Bancorp has agreed to buy 2,547 defunct cryptocurrency ATMs from bankrupt Bitcoin Depot for $620,750, according to court records cited by CoinDesk.
CoinDesk reports that Bitcoin Depot filed for Chapter 11 after first-quarter results deteriorated sharply, with revenue down 49% year over year and a swing from $12.2 million profit to a $9.5 million loss. Just over a quarter of Bitcoin Depot’s more than 9,200 kiosks had been sold for under $1 million.
The purchase also includes additional assets tied to the prior operator, CoinDesk says, with Bitcoin Bancorp acquiring associated floorspace agreements, intellectual property, trademarks, patents, and the BitcoinDepot.com domain for another $110,500.
CoinDesk notes the sale signals ongoing interest in crypto ATM infrastructure even as the industry faces tighter regulation and substantial fraud losses, which reached $389 million in 2025. Bitcoin Bancorp said remaining closings are subject to customary conditions and it expects the rest to be completed during the upcoming quarter.
