LAPTOP memecoin plunges 99% in hours on Base, matches TRUMP price
LAPTOP’s Aerodrome pool marked a $2.00 billion fully diluted valuation as the token fell to about $1.9 by 15:20 UTC, while TRUMP traded near $2.16, down 4.6% on the day.
Hunter Biden’s LAPTOP memecoin lost about 99% of its value in the three hours after it began trading on Base on Wednesday morning, according to The Defiant. The token opened at 12:00 UTC and was down roughly 99.2% to about $1.90 by the 15:20 UTC bucket, while trading stayed closely in line across major venues.
The outlet also noted that LAPTOP and TRUMP have identical one billion total supplies, making their prices directly comparable in terms of fully diluted valuation. By 15:25 UTC, LAPTOP traded around $1.93 with an approximately $2.00 billion fully diluted valuation, while TRUMP traded around $2.16, down 4.6% on the day, with a fully diluted valuation near $2.16 billion.
In liquidity and trading activity, Aerodrome’s Slipstream pool turned over about $13.4 million during the three-hour move, while Uniswap V4 turned over about $11.3 million. Aerodrome liquidity dropped to about $691,488 by 15:25 UTC from about $1.4 million earlier.
The Defiant added that LAPTOP’s market capitalization is larger than TRUMP’s because more of its supply was circulating, citing unlocked tokens at generation for LAPTOP versus after a longer vesting period for TRUMP. It also described a mechanism tied to LAPTOP supply that burns tokens and routes them to charity depending on whether specific prediction outcomes resolve, with one dated for Sept. 9, 2029.
