MNK Group completes purchase of Danish non-life insurer ETU Forsikring
The deal brings MNK a Solvency II-regulated EU carrier authorized across 11 non-life classes and backed by a plan to expand ETU’s Nordic footprint with added capital.
MNK Group, the independent international insurance group, has completed its acquisition of 100% of Danish non-life insurer ETU Forsikring A/S, after approval from Denmark’s Financial Supervisory Authority, Finanstilsynet, Reinsurance News said.
MNK said its priority is to strengthen ETU as a Danish insurer by injecting fresh capital to scale the firm’s regional presence throughout Denmark and the Nordics, with continued investment in local talent, product offerings, and technology infrastructure to support ETU’s policyholders and distribution networks.
ETU, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Rødekro, Southern Jutland, is regulated by Finanstilsynet and authorized across 11 non-life classes, including Property (Fire and Other Damage), General Liability, Motor, and several additional lines covering marine hull and liability, cargo, accident, legal expenses, and assistance.
The acquisition makes ETU MNK’s first dedicated risk carrier in the European Union, and MNK plans to develop the company into a hub for its wider European operations, with additional lines of business to follow subject to regulatory approval.
