Bamboo Insurance postpones IPO as it seeks higher valuation

The home insurer, which filed for an IPO in August, previously aimed to raise up to $700 million at about a $3 billion valuation.

Bamboo Insurance has postponed its initial public offering, according to a Bloomberg report cited by Coverager. The home insurance provider had filed for the IPO in August.

Coverager reports that Bamboo last week said it was seeking to raise as much as $700 million at an approximately $3 billion valuation before the delay.

Bamboo Insurance grew its MGA written premium from $66.6 million in 2022 to $696.1 million in 2025, an increase of $629.5 million, about 945%. The company also added roughly $150 million in admitted California capacity through a partnership with MS Transverse.

Bamboo Insurance was founded in 2018 and had a total funding figure of $28.5 million, Coverager added. The outlet also noted that CVC-advised funds purchased a controlling stake from White Mountains Insurance Group when Bamboo was valued at $1.75 billion.
