Hybrid fronting could expand insurance capacity and risk coverage
European specialty insurer Bridgehaven says hybrid fronting can make regulated capacity available to MGAs and broaden access to specialist underwriting for institutional capital.
Reinsurance News reports that Fiona Marry, European CEO of specialty insurer Bridgehaven, argued hybrid fronting can help grow the insurance market by bringing new or underpenetrated risks into it.
She said the model can also make specialist underwriting expertise accessible to institutional capital and support the ability to access regulated capacity through MGAs.
Bridgehaven, the outlet notes, operates a hybrid fronting model across the market, positioning the approach as a way to widen what risks can be underwritten and by whom.
