Acquinex opens New York office to expand US R&W and tax insurance

Acquinex said its New York office already holds licenses to operate across all US states, and the unit is led by appointments for US representations and warranties and tax coverage.

PIB Group is expanding its transactional insurance platform Acquinex into the United States with a new New York office, marking another step in the broking group’s US growth strategy after its initial entry in 2025. According to Insurance Business, Acquinex is a specialist managing general agent focused on SME and lower mid market M&A insurance. The firm said the New York presence is designed to serve the US representations and warranties, or R&W, and tax liability insurance sectors, supported by two senior hires, Chris Graham as head of R&W insurance and Roktim Kaushik as head of US tax. The company added that its New York office already holds licences to operate across all US states. Acquinex was founded in London in 2017, and Insurance Business reported that by 2021 it had insured more than 700 M&A deals, roughly 300 in that year alone. Acquinex’s US expansion comes after PIB acquired litigation insurance MGA Litica in March 2025, giving the group its first direct foothold in the American market. Insurance Business also noted that PIB received a fresh capital injection from Apax funds around the turn of 2025, and that Acquinex’s US move is the group’s first completed transaction following that investment.
