Bill would let some workers claim full Social Security at 60
The proposal would allow workers in physically demanding jobs to claim full retirement benefits five years earlier than the standard retirement age, according to CNBC.
Rep. Haley Stevens has introduced a bill that would lower the Social Security retirement age to 60 for some workers in physically demanding jobs, CNBC Markets reports.
The legislation would let eligible workers claim full Social Security retirement benefits at 60 instead of waiting until the standard retirement age.
CNBC World similarly noted that the bill is designed to expand early access to full benefits for certain categories of workers based on the nature of their work.
