Energy Transfer revenue, earnings jump after LNG project is canceled

For its most recent quarter, Energy Transfer reported revenue of $34.3 billion, up from $19.2 billion a year earlier, and raised full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance to $18.8 billion to $19.1 billion.

Energy Transfer said its shift away from a planned LNG export terminal in Louisiana is paying off, with results in its most recent quarter showing sharp gains in revenue, earnings, and distributable cash flow. MarketBeat Ratings notes the change began after the company said in December 2025 it would kill the LNG project and instead redirect capital toward its pipeline backlog.

For the quarter reported Aug. 4, revenue rose to $34.3 billion from $19.2 billion a year earlier. Net income nearly doubled to $2.03 billion, while adjusted EBITDA increased to roughly $5.07 billion from $3.87 billion.

Per unit, net income per common unit was 59 cents, ahead of analysts expectations of 39 cents. The company also said volumes were near record levels across multiple segments, including NGL transportation up 13%, NGL exports up 25%, and crude oil transportation up 4%.

Energy Transfer raised full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance to a range of $18.8 billion to $19.1 billion and distributable cash flow attributable to partners increased to about $2.6 billion from $1.96 billion. On payouts, MarketBeat Ratings said the partnership increased its quarterly cash distribution in July for the 19th consecutive time to 34 cents, implying a yield of roughly 6.6%, with management committed to 3% to 5% annual distribution growth.
