Chinese CEOs arrive in Washington ahead of Xi state visit events

A small group of Chinese CEOs holding US visas has arrived in Washington after traveling separately from President Xi Jinping’s official entourage, according to multiple sources cited by SCMP Economy.
The outlet reports that the decision on whether the executives join events tied to Xi’s state visit is still pending, with Beijing security protocols cited as a key reason they did not fly with Xi’s party or aboard his aircraft.
SCMP Economy also says two sources linked the timing and final call to discussions between US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng, which included the issue during their Wednesday meeting.
