Common Bond shuts Barrecore and Boom Cycle studios until further notice

The company, which charges up to £2,400 for 12 months of unlimited classes, told customers its London locations are closed while it works through the disruption.

Common Bond, the operator behind high-end fitness brands including Barrecore, Boom Cycle, and Kobox, has closed all of its studios in London, according to an email sent to customers that the BBC Business viewed.

The wellness collective said its locations are closed “until further notice” and apologized for disruption, adding that it appreciates customers’ patience while it works through the situation. Common Bond describes itself as a wellness collective and charges £2,400 for 12 months of unlimited classes.

The BBC Business reports that instructors told it they were told last week they would not be paid on time, and that they learned about the studio closures from the Wednesday customer email. One instructor said her pay was expected on 14 August but was delayed, and that she has heard nothing since.

The outlet adds that Common Bond’s website is no longer publicly accessible and that Companies House filings show the company was incorporated in June last year, with no accounts published yet. The firm previously said it had 10 sites in August last year, and Barrecore is described as a barre-focused brand whose popularity has risen in recent years.
