Corgi CEO rejects calls to discipline staff for social media posts
The CEO said the firm does not use social media KPIs and described its workforce as focused on building and operating financial products as it scales.
Insurance Business reports that Corgi chief executive Nico Laqua defended the insurer’s permissive approach to employee social media after online criticism of the company’s personality-led brand.
In a post on X on September 20, Laqua rejected calls to fire or discipline employees for personal posts, responding to criticism of a Corgi worker who shared dating preferences online.
Laqua said there are no KPIs tied to social media presence at Corgi and denied that employees are incentivized through formal social media targets.
Insurance Business adds that a member of Corgi’s marketing team, who quote-tweeted Laqua, said the freedom of expression was a reason she joined and contrasted it with requests she previously faced at another employer to remove a comment containing a disability-related slur.
