GEICO to take part in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with 90th anniversary float

GEICO will participate in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a float featuring its Gecko and other characters from its advertising history, as the insurer marks its 90th anniversary, Coverager reports.

The float’s road-trip theme is meant to reflect journeys that connect families, friends, and communities. GEICO said ahead of Thanksgiving, the Gecko will travel from San Francisco to New York City over 10 weeks, stopping in 12 cities, with fans able to follow the trip and suggest potential stops.

GEICO attributed the parade as a major stage for the Gecko to meet fans, according to a statement from its chief marketing officer, Arianna Orpello. Separately, Coverager also notes GEICO produced lower underwriting earnings in the first six months of 2026 compared to 2025.
