Insurify blocks Meta’s Muse AI agent from its insurance comparison platform
Insurify said Muse returns only price and omits key quote details like limits and deductibles, and it is open to a version that preserves privacy, security, and consumer choice.
Insurify has blocked Meta’s personal AI agent Muse from accessing its insurance comparison platform, citing concerns that Muse’s outputs could remove important context from carrier quotes. According to Insurance Journal, Insurify said the information Muse provides “risks stripping carrier quotes of critical contextual information” that consumers need to make informed insurance-buying decisions. The company said the agent produces a shopping experience outside of the consumer-protection safeguards Insurify has in place. Insurify also argued that Muse presents only price while leaving out details such as policy limits, deductibles, discounts, eligibility, and disclosures. Insurify said it supports AI agents that improve insurance shopping, but they must preserve the information and consumer control needed for an informed decision, and it is therefore applying its standard beyond Muse. The company told Insurance Journal it has no exclusive relationship with ChatGPT, and that the decision to block Muse may not be exclusive either. Insurify said it is willing to work with Meta on an integration that meets its standards for privacy, security, and informed consumer choice.
