NSE shares begin trading after IPO at a premium to issue price
The stock listed at a 0.8% premium to the ₹1,785 issue price, opened near ₹1,800, and started secondary-market price discovery after the IPO closed September 21.
National Stock Exchange shares have begun trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange following the IPO’s closure on September 21, marking the start of secondary-market price discovery, LiveMint Markets reports.
The NSE share price listed at a 0.8% premium versus the ₹1,785 IPO issue price, with the stock opening at ₹1,800 per share. The article also notes that the NSE debut followed subdued trading for the exchange’s listing day.
LiveMint Markets cites Seema Srivastava of SMC Global Securities, who says the NSE enters with a structurally dominant position in Indian equity and equity-derivatives trading, supported by high liquidity, a large institutional ecosystem, and a growing investor base.
The outlet adds that, as of June 30, 2026, NSE had 13.237 crore unique registered investors, while its Q1 FY27 consolidated profit after tax was about ₹3,121 crore. It also highlights that FY26 EPS was ₹41.62, implying a trailing P/E around 44.2x at an observed debut level near ₹1,840.
