Sedgwick launches Carrier and Captive Solutions to handle faster-changing risk
The new unit aims to deliver lower claim costs and higher closure rates, citing 5% lower cost per claim and 12% higher closure rates versus select TPAs.
Sedgwick, a global provider of technology-enabled risk and claims solutions, has launched a new Carrier and Captive Solutions entity focused on managing claims complexity and improving performance as risk shifts faster than traditional insurance models can keep pace, according to Reinsurance News.
The offering is positioned as a purpose-built, scalable operating model for carriers and alternative risk takers, including delegated authority and programme administrators. Sedgwick said the practice expands support for carriers and for buyers increasingly using captives, MGAs and MGUs to gain more control over costs and outcomes.
Jason Rogers will lead the new unit as Managing Director, Carrier and Captive Solutions, supported by more than 1,000 professionals across adjusters, client service teams, data and analytics, and operational infrastructure.
Sedgwick also cited performance benchmarks from using its integrated claims, technology, analytics and risk management capabilities. It said clients who fully leverage the platform see 5% lower cost per claim, 12% higher closure rates, and 46% fewer high-severity claims across workers' compensation, auto liability and general liability programmes.
