Solana Foundation adds Binance and Polygon leaders for payments push
Solana says stablecoin volume on its network has exceeded $5 trillion this year, alongside more than $4.5 billion in real-world assets and over $620 million in tokenized equity supply.
Solana Foundation announced appointments aimed at expanding institutional adoption and payments activity on its network. The foundation named Rachel Conlan as chief strategy officer and Jamal Raees as general manager of payments, bringing experience from Binance and Polygon Labs, respectively. The Block reports the roles are intended to help connect Solana with institutional partners and payment companies, plus enterprises across the broader ecosystem.
Solana Foundation President Lily Liu said the ecosystem is growing in scale and ambition, framing the effort as part of what the foundation calls a Token Supercycle, a long term migration of money, assets, and ownership onto always-on internet infrastructure. She added that the shift is now about how quickly markets move on-chain and onto whose infrastructure.
Conlan will lead strategy across institutional partnerships and ecosystem growth, after spending three years at Binance, with prior senior roles at OKX, CAA Sports, and Havas. Raees will focus on working with payment companies and enterprises to broaden Solana’s reach, after joining from Polygon Labs, according to The Block.
The announcement also highlighted current on-chain activity metrics cited by the Solana Foundation. It said Solana has processed more than $5 trillion in stablecoin volume this year, real-world assets have surpassed $4.5 billion, and tokenized equity supply has crossed $620 million.
