Acrisure sues Insurica over alleged Texas school district client poaching
The brokerage is seeking a court declaration that it remains the broker of record for dozens of Texas independent school districts.
Acrisure has filed a lawsuit against Insurica Insurance Services, alleging the pair worked to redirect Acrisure's Texas school district clients to a competitor, according to Insurance Business.
The complaint was submitted on September 23, 2026, in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas and accuses Insurica of breach of contract and tortious interference, and asks for a formal declaration that Acrisure remains the rightful broker of record for dozens of Texas Independent School Districts.
The dispute centers on three insurance risk-pooling programs, the Property Casualty Alliance of Texas, the Coastal Property Alliance of Texas, and Workers' Compensation Solutions, which allow smaller districts to band together for insurance rates.
Insurance Business says Insurica administers the programs, while Acrisure's role is to market and service the district members, with the relationship traced to a 2017 agreement involving Insurica's predecessor and an agency called Carlisle Insurance.
