Carbon Underwriting names Phil Wooldridge head of U.S. casualty

The appointment takes effect Sept. 28, 2026, and Wooldridge will report to chief underwriting officer Rob Crocker.

Carbon Underwriting Limited has appointed Phil Wooldridge as head of U.S. casualty and deputy active underwriter, effective Sept. 28, 2026, Risk & Insurance reported.

According to Risk & Insurance, Wooldridge brings more than 30 years of underwriting experience, most recently serving as head of reinsurance for program solutions at Gallagher Re.

Risk & Insurance also said he previously led London U.S. casualty at SiriusPoint Ltd., and held roles including syndicate chief underwriting officer for reinsurance at MS Amlin.

In the new position, Wooldridge is set to grow Carbon’s U.S. long-tail casualty book of business and will report to chief underwriting officer Rob Crocker, the outlet reported.
