LIC chief Dinesh Pant approved for voluntary retirement from Sep 24, 2026
LIC said Dinesh Pant will stop serving as Managing Director, Chairperson of the Information Technology Strategy Committee, and relevant committee members after Sept. 24, 2026.
HousingWire reports that the Government of India has approved Life Insurance Corporation of India’s (LIC) voluntary retirement application for Dinesh Pant, its Managing Director and key managerial personnel, effective September 24, 2026.
According to LIC’s filing, Pant will be relieved from service after close of the day on September 24, 2026, and will cease to be Managing Director and KMP. The company also said he will no longer chair the Information Technology Strategy Committee, and he will cease to be a member of the Executive Committee and Investment Committee.
The development was shared during market hours, and LIC shares closed up 0.75% at 409 apiece, as the market remained volatile. LiveMint Markets also notes LIC has been in the headlines over NSE IPO buzz due to its 10.72% stake as the bourse’s largest shareholder.
