Lumos Insurance names Ian Meadows SVP and MD for property and casualty

The London based executive will oversee growth of Lumos Insurance’s property and casualty unit, which includes credit, warranty and property risks via its partners.

Lumos Insurance, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoplon Capital, has appointed Ian Meadows as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Global Property Casualty and Specialty Insurance, the company said. Lumos provides insurance products to banks, credit unions and specialty lenders, covering credit protection, specialty property and casualty, as well as life and health insurance, according to the announcement.

Meadows brings more than 30 years of experience in specialty and commercial insurance, reinsurance and insurance technology across the UK and international markets, with a career that included developing new ventures and platforms within the global insurance sector, Lumos said. Based in London, he will oversee the growth of Lumos Insurance’s Property & Casualty business.

Lumos said its property and casualty offering includes credit, warranty and property risks distributed through the company’s partners. The appointment follows growth in its Credit Protection business, and Lumos added that it is looking to expand its property and casualty offering.

Meadows joins Lumos Insurance from Alvarez & Marsal, where he served as Head of Global Specialty & Commercial I, the company said.
