Salty.AI raises about $4 million in equity offering

The round follows Salty’s August relaunch and supports its focus on households with car payments, with coverage shopped across more than 20 carriers at renewal.

Salty.AI raised approximately $4 million from 24 investors in an equity offering that began in March 2026, according to a Form D filed with the SEC on September 22, Coverager reported. The filing did not identify the investors.

The funding comes after Salty’s August relaunch as an AI-native insurance provider targeting households with car payments. Coverager said Salty reviews customers’ existing policies, compares options from more than 20 carriers, and re-shops coverage at renewal.

Coverager also noted partnerships that expand access to Salty’s carrier panel, including OpenRoad Lending, which offers Salty’s insurance options to auto refinance applicants. It added that Mercury Insurance launched a digital binding experience through Salty.

Coverager said Salty initially offered an embedded insurance platform that let consumers purchase auto insurance during the car-buying process.
