State Farm to add about 3,000 claims staff by 2027
The insurer said it will hire about 5,500 for claims through 2027, factoring in attrition and customer demand, as it seeks to support its roughly 11 million annual claims.
State Farm plans to grow its claims workforce through 2027 by about 10%, adding roughly 3,000 employees, the company said in a Sept. 25 announcement, with hiring already underway.
Bloomington, Illinois-based State Farm said it will invest in training, developing, and recruiting to support its existing claims organization of about 30,000 staff across the country.
The insurer also said it will hire about 5,500 for claims through 2027 when accounting for attrition, customer demand, and growth, while handling nearly 11 million claims each year.
State Farm said the effort is intended to help maintain customer service for incidents like accidents and storms, as it cited changes driven by new vehicles and technology, evolving repair methods, and more severe weather events, and it described doing so by expanding claims team capacity to learn and build careers, according to Insurance Journal.
