US chip export controls were not a major focus at Xi-Trump talks
US semiconductor chip export controls appeared to take a back seat during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Washington, with early indications suggesting the restrictions were not a significant item of debate in the Xi-Trump discussions.
According to reporting from SCMP Economy, readouts and early summaries of the summit’s achievements from both Beijing and Washington have not directly mentioned export controls, even though many of the restrictions remain in place.
