Vedanta demerged stocks begin trading after June 15 listing
Investors who owned Vedanta shares on the demerger record date, May 1, 2026, received one share of each new entity for each Vedanta share held.
Four demerged Vedanta Group companies started trading on the BSE and NSE on June 15, 2026, after listing plans for the new units.
The new entities are Vedanta Iron and Steel, Vedanta Oil and Gas, Vedanta Power, and Vedanta Aluminium Metal. Vedanta shareholders on the demerger record date, May 1, 2026, were allotted one share of each new entity for every Vedanta share they held.
According to LiveMint Markets, stock market experts said Vedanta Iron and Steel, Vedanta Oil and Gas, and Vedanta Power are positioned as long-term plays, while Vedanta Aluminium Metal is described as a commodity play.
The outlet also notes that while all four stocks could be considered for long-term portfolio goals, it highlighted Iron and Steel and Oil and Gas as better suited for a long-term investment objective.
