Bitget keeps XRP withdrawals disabled as stolen tokens keep moving

Bitquery data cited by CryptoSlate showed 27.6 million XRP moved onward from two tracked attacker accounts by Sept. 26, after Bitget’s breach response left external XRP withdrawals disabled.

Bitget’s external XRP withdrawals remained disabled as of Sept. 26, even as the exchange scheduled Oct. 2 at 08:00 UTC for the final phase of reopening withdrawals after its post-breach pause, according to CryptoSlate.

In Bitget’s timetable, BTC, ETH and USDT were listed for earlier phases, while “other tokens,” fiat, and peer-to-peer services were covered in the Oct. 2 phase. Because XRP was not listed separately, the schedule effectively places XRP into that final group by exclusion, the outlet reported.

CryptoSlate also cited Bitquery tracing that measured 27.63 million XRP moving onward from two tracked attacker accounts by 02:54 UTC on Sept. 26, while 75.35 million XRP remained across six tracked accounts. The trace was described as an account-balance snapshot, not a measurement of XRP being sold in the spot market.

Bitget’s next scheduled withdrawal phases begin with BTC on Sept. 28 at 08:00 UTC, followed by ETH on Sept. 29 and USDT on Sept. 30, with the remaining “everything group” covered in the Oct. 2 phase. CryptoSlate said this leaves XRP holders focused on both when withdrawals resume and where the stolen XRP goes next.
