EPA ends Clean Air Act power plant CO2 limits, easing coal and gas rules

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced in September that it will relinquish its authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants under the Clean Air Act, a tool it previously used to address climate change, according to OilPrice.

By stepping back from that Clean Air Act power, the agency effectively removes emission limits on coal and gas plants and reduces the government’s ability to curb carbon pollution from those facilities.
