Trump called for rapid action on Iran while referencing Venezuela oil
In remarks at the UN General Assembly last week, Trump also linked Venezuela’s oil to rewards for whoever prevails.
South China Morning Post reports that at the United Nations General Assembly last week, the US president said he was asking whether he should take rapid action on Iran, using language about “annihilating” the Islamic Republic quickly.
The same set of remarks also included comments about Venezuela’s oil, with Trump stating, “To the victor belong the spoils,” as the Iran war approached its eighth month.
SCMP also notes the context around the remarks, describing them as coming a week after a UN Human Rights Council development.
