Cary Town Council approves rezoning for up to 625-unit mixed-use project
The rezoning covers three parcels across from Alston Town Center, allowing up to 200,000 square feet of office space and 55,000 square feet of retail.
Bisnow reports that the Cary Town Council approved rezoning for a planned mixed-use development that could include between 500 and 625 multifamily units west of Raleigh.
The council voted unanimously for the rezoning across three parcels near Alston Town Center on Highway 55, according to the Triangle Business Journal, enabling up to 200,000 square feet of office space and 55,000 square feet of retail.
The project is tied to a 22.7-acre site at 1629 Petty Farm Road and 4404 Highway 55, plus an additional parcel on Highway 55, and was approved about four years after Capitol Commercial LLC applied for a mixed-use designation.
Capitol Commercial updated the plan to seven stories from 10 and added electric vehicle charging spaces, while also requiring at least 5% of units to be affordable, Bisnow reported.
