European gas prices rise as U.S.-Iran talks stall on Strait of Hormuz
The Dutch TTF front-month contract was up 2.15% to $83.76 in early Amsterdam trade.
Europe’s benchmark natural gas prices climbed in early trading in Amsterdam as the United States and Iran were again stuck in a stalemate over negotiations and conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, OilPrice reported.
The front-month Dutch Title Transfer Facility, or TTF, which is the benchmark for Europe’s gas market, rose 2.15% to $83.76, equivalent to 73.62 euros, as of 7:15 a.m. Amsterdam time.
The move came as the report cited the renewed diplomatic impasse between the two sides over the strait, a key chokepoint for regional energy flows.
