Greystar ABP venture seeks more opportunities in the Netherlands
The ABP-Greystar partnership has €946.0 million in disclosed commitments, funding three projects with 2,119 homes so far.
Bisnow reports that Greystar is looking to expand its Netherlands presence as easing Dutch rental regulations make the market more attractive to international investors.
The report says the Dutch Essential Housing Venture, a 1.0 billion euro partnership between pension fund ABP and Greystar, is focused on building new affordable rental homes for middle-income residents, including starters, retirees, and key workers who earn too much for social housing but cannot afford the free market.
More than two years after launch, the venture is managed through APG, ABP's asset management arm, and has 946.0 million euros in disclosed commitments supporting three projects totaling 2,119 homes across the Netherlands, according to the report.
Greystar's Mark Kuijpers said the venture has a high likelihood of being expanded in the future, though he noted nothing has been finalized yet.
