Hong Kong customs seizes slimming injections from Japan, arrests two
Customs said the 400 injection vials were suspected to contain Part 1 poisons under Hong Kong Pharmacy and Poisons Regulations.
Hong Kong customs officers seized 400 so-called slimming injections imported from Japan and arrested two local residents, the agency said on Monday.
The case came to light on September 5, when officers intercepted a suspicious postal packet at the Air Mail Centre and found anti-obesity injection vials suspected to contain Part 1 poisons from the consignment.
The seizures were valued at about HK$290,000 (US$36,970), customs said, adding that substances on Hong Kong’s Poisons List are subject to sale and possession controls under the Pharmacy and Poisons Regulations.
