Continental Re appoints Consolate as Rwanda chief representative officer

Continental Re’s Rwanda representative office in Kigali received National Bank of Rwanda approval in August 2026, and Consolate takes the top role for the unit.

Continental Re has appointed Tumusiime Consolate as Chief Representative Officer for its Rwanda operations, according to Reinsurance News. Consolate will lead the company’s Kigali-based representative office, following over 14 years of experience in underwriting and reinsurance in the Rwandan market.

Reinsurance News said Consolate previously held roles including Reinsurance Manager and Head of Underwriting and Reinsurance, where she led operational departments, grew portfolios, and maintained risk levels through underwriting and reinsurance strategy.

The representative office was established in connection with Continental Re’s broader commitment to East Africa, and Reinsurance News said it received National Bank of Rwanda approval in August 2026 to strengthen relationships with insurers, brokers, and other industry stakeholders in Rwanda.
