Millennium Management tops $30bn in investor commitments for new raise

Millennium is expected to finalize about $22bn of commitments on October 1, and it is also weighing a possible additional $3bn credit strategy raise for less-liquid assets.

Millennium Management has received more than $30bn in investor commitments for its latest capital-raising initiative, exceeding the roughly $20bn it initially planned to accept, according to Hedgeweek citing a Bloomberg report that referenced unnamed people familiar with the matter.

The firm is expected to finalize about $22bn of commitments on October 1. Millennium is also considering an additional $3bn raise for a credit strategy that would invest in less-liquid assets.

Hedgeweek also notes that Millennium manages about $97bn and is using the effort to offer investors more ways to access its platform, which includes more than 360 trading teams and external managers overseeing part of its capital. The firm is also exploring arrangements to replace some of the external capital with its own money.
