Relation Insurance acquires LaPlaca Insurance in Philadelphia area deal
The acquisition, announced Sept. 25 and effective June 30, 2026, was structured as an assets purchase and terms were not disclosed.
Relation Insurance Services has acquired the assets of LaPlaca Insurance, a family-founded agency based in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, expanding the brokerage’s footprint in the greater Philadelphia market and neighboring New York and New Jersey, according to Insurance Business.
The deal was announced on Sept. 25 and took effect June 30, 2026, and the companies did not disclose deal terms. LaPlaca, founded in 1988, serves clients across the greater Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey areas, writing business insurance, employee benefits, and personal lines, along with coverage in several other states.
Insurance Business reports that La Placa’s vice president, Anne La Placa, said the agency was seeking a partner that shared its values while adding resources and capabilities for its clients.
Relation CEO Tim Hall said LaPlaca’s client retention was a key deciding factor, noting that the LaPlaca team brings a combined 140 years of insurance experience and that retention rates have consistently been in the high 90th percentile.
