U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve hits lowest level since 1982
The reserve fell to 283.8 million barrels in the following week, according to Department of Energy data.
Crude stocks in the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve fell to 284.6 million barrels for the week ending September 18, the Energy Information Administration said, down from 285.0 million the prior week.
The same data also showed the reserve level was far below year-ago levels, at 406.0 million barrels a year earlier.
Department of Energy figures indicated the reserve dropped further the following week to 283.8 million barrels, the lowest level since October 1982, OilPrice reported.
