Valley National Bancorp to buy Bluevine in about $340 million deal

The consideration is expected to be about 75% cash and 25% Valley common stock, with a targeted early 2027 close.

Valley National Bancorp said it will acquire digital lender Bluevine for about $340 million, with the transaction expected to close in early 2027, according to Coverager.

The deal consideration is expected to be approximately 75% cash and 25% Valley common stock. Bluevine was founded in 2013 and serves 175,000 active small business customers across the US, and it has about $2.1 billion in digitally sourced deposits.

The Bluevine platform includes business checking, payments, bill pay, invoicing, lending and financial management tools. Coverager also noted Bluevine has two insurance backers, Nationwide and Phoenix Insurance.

In a statement reported by Coverager, Valley National Bancorp said the acquisition advances its previously communicated strategic priorities, including enhancing its core funding capabilities and adding a small business growth platform, and it expects the deal to accelerate its digital and AI capabilities.
