Applied Systems adds AI layer to Epic for agency workflow automation
Epic Conductor automates parts of the policy lifecycle inside Epic, cutting data entry by more than 50 percent and adding automatic logging for error and omissions purposes.
Applied Systems introduced Epic Conductor, a native artificial intelligence layer built into its Applied Epic system, unveiled at its Applied Net 2026 conference in Washington, D.C., the company said in an Insurance Business write-up. The platform is designed to automate workflows across the full policy lifecycle from within Epic rather than handling tasks individually. Epic Conductor works within Epic's existing security controls, so agencies do not need to connect a separate AI tool or migrate data to use the capabilities, Insurance Business reported. Applied Systems said the most immediate operational gains are in data entry and policy verification, where the system pulls information from carrier documents such as dec pages, applications, and submissions and writes it directly back into Epic. According to Insurance Business, Applied Systems said Epic Conductor cuts data entry by more than 50 percent, with actions logged automatically to support errors and omissions purposes. It also runs quote comparisons side by side, checks every bound policy against what was originally quoted, and flags coverage gaps and missing endorsements for review. The article also cited an Ivans survey published in August, which found 74 percent of agents identified rekeying risk data across carrier portals as their top pain point.
