Forest City’s cashless slot gambling uses Touch ’n Go e-wallet credits
In Malaysia’s Forest City in Johor state, a shoplot behind an unmarked door is drawing customers to slot-style tablet games, with betting starting at around 20 ringgit, or US$4.89, according to CNA, as syndicated by SCMP Economy.
Customers do not hand over cash at the counter, instead paying for gambling credits using Malaysia’s Touch ’n Go e-wallet, after which they receive tablets with pre-installed slot games.
SCMP Economy reports that many customers are foreigners and that some spend hours playing, topping up their credits several times, while the counter worker said many players are also workers living in Forest City.
