Goodman Group withdraws Sydney north-shore data center plan
The Project Mars plan was valued at A$1.2 billion, about US$842 million, and Goodman cited changes in federal and state policy plus community feedback.
Goodman Group has withdrawn its application to develop a 24-hour data centre on Sydney’s north shore, after public pushback, according to SCMP Economy.
The firm said it would not proceed with its Project Mars development application after accounting for evolving federal and state policy and community feedback.
Goodman also said the policy and regulatory environment for large artificial intelligence data centres had “evolved significantly” since planning began in March 2025.
The project was described as worth A$1.2 billion, or about US$842 million, according to reporting cited by SCMP Economy.
