Howden Re names Jens Ellborg managing director for Copenhagen office

The Copenhagen office is co-led by Howden Re’s Stockholm team and will launch on Nov. 1, 2026, to expand Denmark-focused reinsurance services.

Howden Re, the reinsurance, capital markets and strategic advisory business of Howden, has established an office in Copenhagen, Denmark, and appointed Jens Ellborg as managing director effective Nov. 1, 2026, according to Reinsurance News.

The Nordic business that supports the move is co-led by Sophia Dunér and Camilla Langensjö from Stockholm, and it has served clients for 15 years. It now includes more than 20 colleagues across broking, analytics, catastrophe modelling, and client service.

Howden Re said the Copenhagen office is intended to let it service Danish clients and markets in closer proximity, combining local market knowledge with its global broking, analytics and capital capabilities.

In his new role, Ellborg will lead the expansion of Howden Re’s Danish offering and work with reinsurance colleagues across the region and with Howden Denmark, to support insurers, MGAs, and other market participants with reinsurance, analytics, and access to traditional, structured, and alternative capital. The company added that he has more than four decades of experience in the Nordic reinsurance market.
