Indian stocks face cautious start as Nifty stabilizes after decline
Monday, Nifty 50 slid 1.54% to 22,762, taking year-to-date losses to 13.0%.
Indian equities are expected to open cautiously flat on Tuesday, September 29, after Monday’s broad-based decline, according to LiveMint Markets. The outlook was reflected in GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 22,820, down nearly 4 points from the prior Nifty futures close.
LiveMint Markets reported that Monday’s selloff pushed Nifty 50 down 1.54% to close at 22,762, breaking below the 23,000 level for the first time since April. Year to date losses also widened to 13.0%.
The Sensex ended lower as well, falling 1.43% to settle at 72,836, below the 73,000 mark. LiveMint Markets said investors are likely to focus on company specific developments and updates, including Indian Railway Finance Corporation, Tata Group stocks, Ola Electric Mobility, ITC, NCC, and Zydus Lifesciences.
